MARIETTA, Ga. -- Hundreds of fans came out to Marietta Square Monday to stargaze, and they weren't disappointed. As they looked on and shot pictures from across the street, "Dumb and Dumber To" co-stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels shot scenes from the new film right in front of them. The movie will be released next year, exactly twenty years after the original.

David Scott rented the original Dumb and Dumber for his first date with his now-wife of ten years. They brought their son to the square Monday.
"It's kind of a romantic event to be down here, our marriage depends on seeing [the two stars,]" Scott joked.
The Scott marriage will be ok, as Daniels and Carrey drove an ice rink Zamboni through the streets of Marietta several times. Carrey was also seen filming his trademark open-armed hug next to the square's fountain.
Parts of the square have been transformed into El Paso, Texas. Marietta Pizza company got a new sign saying "Marguerite Pizza Company," the old Theatre on the Square marquee announced the "El Paso Players," while a banner over the street welcomed visitors to El Paso's "NED conference," apparently a satire of the intellectually-focused TED conference series.
Filming will continue Tuesday. Traffic was held up during rush hour, but moved smoothly during the day.
