ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines' website and Delta's mobile apps were experiencing outages Thursday afternoon.
As of 3 p.m. the site and apps were back up and running. However, the site went back down around 6 p.m. However, service was finally restored around 7:45 p.m.
Visitors to Delta.com received the message: "We've encountered an unexpected server issue. Our technicians are working on the problem and we expect to have you back online very soon. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The message was under the headline "A Missed Connection."
Delta released a statement via Twitter early Thursday afternoon that said, ".@Delta is experiencing issues affecting website and mobile performance. Our tech teams are working to resolve the issues quickly."
And later Thursday evening, saying "Sorry, but @Delta website, mobile apps impacted again. Our tech teams are working on it. Check-in at airport kiosks. Tks for your patience."
Around 8 p.m., a spokesperson for Delta released a statement saying:
"Delta.com is functioning once again. Overnight maintenance caused the original performance issues for approximately four hours today. The issue occurred again for just over an additional hour later in the day before technology had fully stabilized. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers."
The air carrier says travelers who need information can call their toll-free customer care number at 800-221-1212.
