FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- It wasn't quite the landing he expected.
A hot air balloon operator thought he was landing on the ground in North Fulton County Monday morning, only to realize it was a retention pond covered with algae and other greenery.
By then it was too late for him and his four passengers.
Fortunately, the pond wasn't deep. Everyone got out safely, but the hot air balloon had to pulled out and then carried out of the wooded area to a waiting truck.
The balloon ride was a sunrise flight, one of two the balloon company does a day.
