DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- Police took a North Carolina woman into custody at a Douglasville motel Tuesday afternoon.
Douglasville Police and the FBI converged on the Lee's Motel on Highway 5 in Douglasville, just north of Interstate 20. A caller from an insurance agency located next door to the hotel said they were evacuated due to the police activity there.
The FBI said Mulana Parks was wanted on a warrant from Greensboro, North Carolina.
Douglasville Police say investigators traced Parks' cell phone signal to the area of a Walmart near the motel. They say she also showed up in some Walmart security footage. Officers searched several businesses in the area and found her red Honda at the motel.
After bringing in a SWAT team and making contact with Parks, they managed to talk her into surrender peacefully.
Parks was wanted in connection with the death of Kenneth Galloway, who was found dead in Parks' apartment on October 16.
Galloway's roommate called police from Parks' apartment after Galloway had not been seen at home in several days. When police arrived, they found Galloway's body.
Parks is being held in the Douglas County Jail awaiting a hearing to extradite her back to Greensboro, North Carolina.
Police still don't know the cause of 46-year-old Kenneth Lee Galloway's death.
