FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Fulton County elected officials are making a push to make sure Georgians can vote in elections next week.
"There really is, for all intensive purposes, an election emergency in Georgia," according to Sen. Vincent Fort. Fort represents parts of Atlanta and East Point.
Fort was at the Georgia State Capitol on Monday, saying U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was being notified about state voter registration issues.
Last week, 11Alive News went after top state and county officials -- in an effort to get answers after 20,000 new voter registration cards in Fulton County were reported to have been found with mistakes.
Officials told 11Alive the mistakes were linked to the state's new elections software.
