ATLANTA -- The American Cancer Society will end its national enrollment campaign for its Cancer Prevention Study 3 at the end of December.
CPS-3 will follow 300,000 people for the rest of their lives in hopes of finding a cure for cancer.

Past cancer studies have discovered such crucial health information as the links between smoking and cancer, and obesity and cancer.
Volunteers must be between the ages of 30 and 65. Those who sign up will take a blood test and fill out a questionnaire. They will complete more surveys periodically over the next 20 to 30 years.
