UNION CITY, Ga. -- The search is on for a woman who stole and then crashed a police car in south Fulton County Tuesday morning.

Jenny Faith Clementi is currently at large. Union City police said she is accused of driving the cop car away from a Walmart where she was taken into custody for a different crime.

The incident began at around 2:15 a.m. at the Walmart on Jonesboro Road. Union City Police Det. Gloria Hodgson said Clementi was arrested when she tried to use a fraudulent credit card at the store. She was placed in the back of a squad car.

While the arresting officer gathered information at the scene, Clementi somehow moved her cuffed hands from behind her back to her front. She then pried open a passage portal leading from the back seat of the car to the front, and drove the car away.

Hodgson said Clementi drove the police car north on Interstate 85. She crashed into another car at I-285 and ran from the scene.

Clementi is white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She lives in southwest Atlanta.

Anyone who sees Clementi or knows her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
