It is going to be a soggy day. The rain and storms moved in overnight. The storms weakened as they moved to the east. We had some thunder and lightning overnight with some areas getting some winds around 40mph in west Georgia. We are now transitioning from severe weather potential to flood potential The rain sticks with us. We will have moderate to heavy rain at times. We have a flood watch in effect through Monday morning. Temperatures stay warm. We already reached our high temp for the day at 71 degrees at 1am. That breaks a record for today's date. The previous record was 70 degrees 124 years ago in 1889.
Our temperatures will hold in the 60s today, then fall later tonight into tomorrow. The rain will end during the day Monday. High temperatures Monday go back to the mid 50s. If you want colder air for Christmas, you've got it. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day our highs will only be in the 40s. We wake up Christmas morning to temperatures in the mid 20s.
It will be dry for the rest of the week once this rain moves out Monday. We'll have plenty of sun with cold air.
