ATLANTA -- Imagine Christmas morning with no food, no gifts and no family.  That's how three young people chose to spend their holiday.

In fact they spent the last five days on the street to experience life among the homeless.

Shaylee Hatch came up with the idea.  She's from Boise, Idaho where she founded The Temporary Home Foundation.  It aims to raise awareness for foster care youth who age out of the system at 18 with no place to go.

"We have to demand a change. We have to do something about those kids who are invisible and no body sees," Hatch said.

For five days she and two others slept outside an abandoned house in Atlanta.   Three strangers became a family of sorts, after five days undercover on the streets.  They met online through their own awareness campaigns and gave up their holiday to Atlanta and sleep in the streets.

Hatch's will take her campaign to New York for New Year's Eve.
