ATLANTA -- Former Georgia Tech and NBA basketball player Javaris Crittenton was among a group of more than a dozen people arrested in a drug trafficking sting in metro Atlanta early Wednesday.
Crittenton was out on bond awaiting trial for murder in connection with the shooting death of an Atlanta woman in August 2011.

He waived his hearing for Thursday morning and will remain in the Fulton County jail with no bond.
Crittenton, along with 13 others, are accused of selling large quantities of cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana. The arrests were the culmination of a 7-month investigation dating back to June 2012.
Over the course of his professional basketball career, Crittenton played with the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and the Washington Wizards. He signed a contract with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010, but was waived after three weeks.
In college, Crittenton played for Georgia Tech in 2006 and 2007. He spent his high school career at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy.
