COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb County Chairman Tim Lee, who quietly negotiated the Atlanta Braves' move to Cobb, is the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year.

Lee was surprised with the award on Saturday at the Chamber's 72nd Annual Dinner.

The Braves said Nov. 11 the team would move to Cobb. County commissioners voted Nov. 26 to give the team $300 million in public funding for a new $672 million stadium.

Lee said after receiving the award, "I really am at a loss for words ... This is way beyond what I deserve."

Lee was elected to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners in November 2002. He was elected as chairman in July 2010.

Lee, who has worked in advertising and marketing for more than 35 years, owns Summit View Marketing Inc.

He was also among Atlanta Business Chronicle's 100 Most Influential Atlantans in 2011 and 2013.
