Area grocery and hardware stores were packed on Monday as metro Atlanta residents prepared for another winter weather blast.
After visits to six stores, Shilla Benning and her sister had no luck in finding ice melt.
Vern Liebmann was thoughtful enough to bring back two extra bags he bought Monday morning. Those bags never made it back on the shelves.
At many local grocery stores, bread and milk were among the items flying off of shelves. The essentials apparently wasn't all that were on shoppers' minds; one manager said that beer and wine sales went up around 30 percent during the last storm.
Stores added extra staff to help deal with the expected crowds.
