(WXIA) -- In the wake of the ice storm that crippled much of Georgia this week, the National Weather Service on Thursday issued an advisory for areas of black ice overnight.
While many areas made it above freezing, allowing for some melting, temperatures are expected to go back below the freezing mark by midnight, creating areas of ice on roadways and other surfaces.
Drivers should exercise extreme caution in the overnight and early Friday hours, because the areas of ice may be difficult or impossible to see against the dark-colored pavement.
