ATLANTA - It seems many people are ready to get out of the house and check out the snow - maybe even run to the grocery store or check out what is open.
It may have taken two days for this storm to pass through Atlanta, but it only took a few hours and a little sunshine for people to get over it and to get back outdoors. Many people we spoke with today said they couldn't wait to get some fresh air.
The sun started to hit the streets by about 11 am, and the melting ice could be seen almost immediately. Sidewalks and roadways that were snow-covered and ice-packed, are now slushy, and even the frozen tree branches are beginning to thaw out.
But be careful in the overnight hours - roadways are expected to refreeze overnight leaving slick spots and black ice in areas.
