ATLANTA -- Atlanta police are looking for people who may have been victims of a man suspected of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, the suspect targeted the Hispanic community. He allegedly told one victim on Feb. 4 to give him $400 or he would be arrested for being in the country illegally. The victim, who thought the man was an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, initially refused. He complied after the suspect attempted to handcuff him. The suspect took money from the victim and then frisked him and got more funds, according to police.
Investigators have arrested a suspect and believe there could be more victims.
