BANKS COUNTY, Ga. -- Human remains were found in a wooded area of Banks County Monday night.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Sherry Lang said the remains were found near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Highway 441 north.
GBI agents and Banks County Sheriff's officials combed the area and found more bones and artifacts, Lang said. The remains were examined by a University of Georgia anthropologist and were determined to be human.
The person's identity and cause of death have not yet been determined.
