(USA Today) -- Richie Incognito, who has had anger-management issues during his football career, smashed his own black Ferrari with a baseball bat, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
Sargeant Mark Clark said the police became aware of this situation after TMZ brought it to their attention Wednesday afternoon.
"They provided us with a photo of a damaged car and reported it to belong to Mr. Incognito, and they gave us an address," Clark said. "We went out there and checked to see if there was a damaged car there. There was no car and no one answered the door.
"We went out there again this morning and we were able to contact Mr. Incognito and he reported that he damaged his own car and didn't need any police help or report."
Incognito had been suspended from the Miami Dolphins since Nov. 3 following bullying allegations by teammate Jonathan Martin. He had his suspension lifted earlier this month, then followed up with a Twitter rant where he lashed out at Martin.
