DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- The former principal of Murphey Candler Elementary School is scheduled to report to the DeKalb jail Friday to serve one year for cruelty to children. Thomas L. Hudson had been accused of aggravated child molestation and other charges after being arrested Feb. 23 by a school security officer who found him in a park with a 16-year-old boy. The boy later said he and Hudson began a sexual relationship when he was 15. Georgia's legal age of consent is 16. Superior Court Judge Robert Castellani sentenced Hudson to 10 years, including one year in jail, minus 40 days he served after his arrest.
