Forbes magazine has released a top ten list that shows their choices for the top ten "least expensive new cars to own."
The list takes into account the overall cost of maintaining the vehicle, along with the depreciation involved in paying for and owning the car over a five-year time frame. Five years is the length of time that the average American household keeps a vehicle.
Each of the models on the list is classified as a compact or sub-compact car, which, of course, means that family vehicles are pretty much excluded from the list.
