Police said that Apollo Holmes, 24, wanted in connection with last week's assault on fitness trainer Darius Miller, turned himself in Monday morning.

Atlanta police spokesman James Polite said Holmes turned himself in at the Fulton County jail about 8 a.m. Monday. A warrant charges Holmes with aggravated assault in the attack on Miller.

Miller, 41, was beaten after trying to stop a group of men from videotaping a group that included Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin's daughters, Kai Franklin Graham and Kali Jamilla Franklin outside of the popular Atlanta nightclub Verve around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, according to a police report.

Polite said Miller remained in critical condition Monday at Emory Crawford Long Hospital. The hospital declined to discuss Miller's condition.
