WINDER, Ga. (AP) -- A third person has died from injuries sustained in a two-car collision in northeast Georgia that killed the two drivers.
A passenger in a Camaro, 23-year-old Bethany Fox of Statham, died Monday in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Braselton Police Officer Ray Rutledge first spotted the Camaro just before 10 p.m. Sunday in Jackson County at the intersection of Georgia 211 and 124 and said he clocked the car traveling at 100 miles an hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
The Georgia State Patrol post in Athens says the Camaro collided head-on with a Dodge Neon in Barrow County.
The Camaro's driver, 22-year-old Gregory King Junior of Statham, was thrown from the car and killed when he hit a nearby tree. The driver of the Neon, 21-year-old Patricia Griffin of Lawrenceville, died en route to the hospital.
A second passenger in the Camaro, 20-year-old Alan Hatton, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and a passenger in the Neon, 21-year-old Nicolette Joiner of Winder was taken to Barrow Community Hospital.
The patrol is investigating the crash.
