FBI Joins Search for Missing Couple

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- The FBI has joined the search for a prominent business couple missing from the Hilton Head Island yacht community they owned.

Beaufort County Sheriff's Lieutenant Colonel Neil Baxley said Friday that the FBI and state police were helping search a yacht and office belonging to John and Elizabeth Calvert. They were last seen Monday.

The couple live part-time on the yacht docked at the gated Harbour Town Yacht Basin. They also own a home in Atlanta.

One of their vehicles, a silver 2006 Mercedes, is missing.

Baxley said an underwater search of the marina had been canceled because of rain in the area.

Deputies say they have not ruled out foul play.
