Man Shot, Woman Dead in Butts County

A a man was being treated at an area hospital, and his ex-wife was dead, following a shooting in Butts County.

Investigators said the man and woman were painting a room for their son who is coming home from the military when they started arguing.

Moments later, officials say the woman shot the man in the arm. She then barricaded herself inside the home before later committing suicide.

The man was flown to Emory Medical Center. A report on his condition was not available.

The names of the people involved have not been released.
