After five months of searching, the family of a missing college student may have found her remains.
Twenty-three-year-old Artdrunetta Hobbs was last seen in August and since then her family and friends never gave up hope of finding her.
"We just want closure. I mean when I say mom hasn't slept, she definitely hasn't slept. I haven't slept. None of the people, people haven't been sleeping because this is something we're not just going to sit down and take, that's she's gone, that she's missing," said family friend, Shon Tilley.
Hobbs' family began to search for the missing student Saturday morning after they received a tip that Hobbs was last seen at Melvin Drive Park.
More than 250 volunteers combed the wooded area along Melvin Drive and discovered a skull and other remains about 10:45 a.m. Saturday, just two miles from where police found Hobbs' torched car.
"In addition, there are a number of other things the teams found. We did find, one of our other teams, did find a shotgun. We found some clothing. We found some other things that need to be checked out," said Michael Langford of the United Youth Adult Conference.
Now, the medical examiner will conduct DNA tests to verify whether the remains belong to Hobbs.
