By day, it is an unsuspecting home in a quiet Roswell neighborhood, but by night, police said, it turns into a Vegas-style casino, and a $10,000 minimum will get you in.
"We've done it Monday for 3-to-4 years," said Troy Gibson.
But on Monday night, a weekly ritual came to an end for 27 men in a Roswell home. Homeowner Dan Tyre and another man, Glen Gilbertti, face felony charges of commercial gambling and drug possession. Police said they found cocaine in the home.
Police said 25 other people, including two women who served drinks, were herded into a paddy wagon late Monday night and jailed on misdemeanor charges of gambling.
Police said men had to have at least $10,000 to gain entry to the game. Gibson said it is not true.
"There's no entry fee, there's a bunch of guys playing cards," Gibson said.
Police and SWAT team members stormed the house on Monday night after a six-month investigation. Neighbors had called police to complain about traffic in the quiet neighborhood.
Authorities said they recovered $45,000 from inside the house. Gibson maintains, this was Monday night Texas Hold 'Em, nothing more.
"I promise you, they didn't find $26,000," Gibson said. "We all have jobs, families, like everyone else. We're just blown away by the whole thing."
