The Hidden Falls Rapids swim team is trying to save 10-year-old Olivia King one lap at a time.
"Thank you are just words," Dean King said. "But when we say them, we mean it from the bottom of my heart."
Olivia has Cystic Fibrosis and a severe liver disorder. She's never been able to swim, but her dad says she loves to help out at the Rapids swim meets in Gwinnett County. They've adopted her cause, and named her an honorary swim member. She was supposed to be on scene Thursday night to accept the award, but had to be hospitalized Wednesday.
Within the next 12 months, she'll need a new liver. Her insurance only covers part of the cost, leaving her family scrambling for the remaining $185,000.00.
The Rapids swim team is raising the money through the summer. If you want to help, you can call the Helping Hands Ministries at (706) 754-6884 ot 110-967-8877.
