RIVERDALE, Ga. -- A Riverdale post office now bears the name of a fallen local police officer.
Major Greg Barney was killed in the line of duty during a drug raid earlier in the year after 25 years with Riverdale Police Department.
Family and friends joined Senator Johnny Isakson and Congressman David Scott to honor Barney during Saturday's ceremony.
His widow said the support shows just how much he was loved by the community.
"Great day - great honor for the Barney family," she said. "He's well deserved, he deserves that."
The decision to rename the post office received unanimous support in congress before being approved by President Barack Obama.
