Sunken storm grate causing problems on Peachtree.
ATLANTA -- Just four months after helping fix a car-damaging sunken storm drain on Peachtree Road, another one, just a few hundred feet away is now popping tires.
Rudy Harrell, a nearby property owner, says his tenant witnessed a blowout after a driver hit the grate located in front of 2544 Peachtree Road, NW, in Buckhead.
Rudy contacted 11Alive and Commuter Dude rushed out to take pictures and subsequently send them to the Georgia D.O.T. Later that day, GDOT crews covered the grate with a steel plate and secured the plate with asphalt.
Now, Dude is just waiting on the permanent repair.
