Condolences pour in for slain Georgia deputy

Law enforcement agencies are sending in condolences after a Peach County deputy was killed in the line of duty.

After a Peach County deputy was killed in the line of duty Sunday, deputies around the state started posting condolences.

Deputies Patrick Sondron and Daryl Smallwood were responding to call around 5:30 p.m. when a suspect opened fire on them in Bryon, Ga.

Sondron was killed and Smallwood was critically injured. The suspect,  Ralph Stanley Elrod was also shot and is recovering.

After news of the shooting spread, departments started posting condolences online. Members of the Crisp County Sheriff's Office gathered in prayer for the officers, posting a note on Facebook saying, "Please keep these and all our men and women in blue in your prayers."

Woodstock Police lowered their flag.

Bibb County posted their condolences along with a Thin Blue Line.

Lakeport Police Department posted, "Another American hero police officer assassinated this evening."
