No bond for band director accused of rape

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The South Gwinnett High School band director accused of raping a student multiple times made his first court appearance on Saturday morning.

Villie Jones, Sr., 42, appeared before a Gwinnett County magistrate court judge around 9 am. No bond was set, and Jones remains in jail.

According to police, an 18-year-old female student told Snellville police on May 2 that she had been sexually assaulted by a teacher at South Gwinnett High on multiple occasions.

She said the last incident had occurred in March. The victim also provided names of other students who she said were in a relationship with the teacher.

Snellville police then contacted Gwinnett County Schools Police.

Jones was arrested on Wednesday on four charges of sexual assault.

According to South Gwinnett High School, Jones was the school's band director.
