STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- The Clayton County Sheriff's Office confirmed, Thursday that it has made an arrest in the shooting death of a woman on Black Forest Trail earlier in the month.
In a statement from the sheriff's office, officials said that the department's "Elite Fugitive Squad" arrested Victor Demetrius Baymon after spotting him driving a U-Haul truck behind Golden Corral on Highway 138 in Stockbridge, Ga.
When deputies attempted to stop the truck, authorities said Bayrmon rammed a patrol car. Deputies responded by converging on the truck and cutting off the suspect's escape.
The arrest stems from the shooting death of 27-year-old Priscilla Colbert on April 11. Clayton County police investigated the shooting and as of April 13 had several "person of interest" but had not named a suspect. The police department later identified Bayrmon and the sheriff's office task force joined the investigation.
