Kind man gives stranger a ride, gets shot for his trouble

Police are looking for a man who allegedly shot a Good Samaritan several time after the man gave him a ride.

ATLANTA – Police are looking for a man who allegedly shot a Good Samaritan several time after the man gave him a ride.

According to Fulton County police, Leslie Jerome Arnold, 66, of College Park, was at the Old National Highway Kroger on Monday when the suspect approached him and asked him for a ride to an area near Old Madison Place.

But as they approached the area, police said the suspect pulled a gun and attempted to carjack Arnold. A struggle ensued, and Arnold was shot multiple times.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he is in stable but critical condition, according to police.

The suspect, who fled on foot after the shooting, is described as a black male, medium complexion, between 5’11” and 6’1” and approximately 150-160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and red jacket, camouflage pattern pants, tan boots/shoes and a hoodie.

The suspect also has several tattoos on his neck and face.
