Man who escaped from Monroe County Jail back in custody

He wasn't out very long.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. – Police have apprehended a man who escaped from the Monroe County Jail.

Mathew Pippin, who was in custody for a violation of probation for a non-violent drug offense, escaped Thursday afternoon, Sgt. Lawson Bittick said. 

Pippin was last seen in the area of Ensign Road in Forsyth, wearing a black and white jumpsuit.

He has now been charged with escape.
