A father pled guilty to punching his 2-month old son to death and keeping his death a secret, 11Alive's media partners report.
Prosecutors say, Antoine Petty hit the child because he wouldn't stop crying.
When the child died, Petty stored the body in the back of a car for at least a day, then he buried him in a shallow grave behind a high school.
11Alive's affiliate NBC 4 in Washington report Petty and his wife Geneice kept the baby's death a secret for three weeks before the infant's grandmother reported her daughter and the 2-month-old missing.
Detectives located the couple, who led them to to where the baby's remains were.
Petty faces up to 40-years in prison when he's sentenced next month. Geneice was also indicted for involuntary manslaughter and accessory after the fact to first degree murder. She is still awaiting trial.
