Surveillance video captures possible suspect in deadly home invasion

Man jumps from balcony during home invasion

ATLANTA -- Investigators are following new leads in a case in which a man died after jumping nearly three stories from his condo's balcony trying to escape three home invaders.

Atlanta Police released a short clip of surveillance video Thursday of a person of interest who might be connected to the death investigation of 51-year-old Jose Greer.

The Dec. 9 video from an Atlanta McDonald's at the corner of MLK Jr. Drive and Joseph Lowry Boulevard captures the possible suspect who police say may have used Greer's bank card the same night of the deadly home invasion. Police are interested in identifying him and are hoping the backpack he was wearing may lead to potential clues.

Investigators were already pursing another potential suspect based surveillance video captured from the apartment building. In that video, one of the three suspects is seen wearing a black hat with the word "Supreme" written in white. Atlanta police called the hat "unique" and hoped it would lead to finding its owner.

Police said Greer called 911 the night of the home invasion to report that his Sky Lofts condo was being broken into. When police arrived, they found him on the ground severely injured. He reportedly told them he jumped from his third story balcony. Greer was transported to Grady hospital where he later died.

Crime Stoppers is now offering a $35,000 reward for any information that leads to arrests.
