Woman dead after she, husband respond to online ad in DeKalb

Police now working to find three men responsible

REDAN, Ga. -- DeKalb police are investigating after a fatal shooting that stemmed from an online ad.

Police said said the couple, a man and a woman who were both 40, drove to 1800 Woodcrest Walk to purchase a cell phone they had located on the Internet. The couple met three suspects at that location. The man became suspicious of the suspects, who then demanded the victims' phones.

One of the suspects pulled a gun and shot the woman.

"Once the husband got suspicious of the subjects trying to make the sale, one of the subjects pulled out a gun and ended up shooting his wife," Lt. Shane Stanfield said.

The husband told police he drove to the entrance of the complex to call for help.

Police are now looking for several suspects and said none had been taken into custody.
