2 Ga. schools recognized for environmental work

ATLANTA (AP) - The U.S. Department of Education is recognizing two suburban Atlanta schools for their work to cut down on harmful environmental impacts.

Arcado Elementary School in Lilburn and High Meadows School in Roswell are among 57 schools being named Green Ribbon Schools and receiving sustainability awards on Tuesday.

The schools also are credited for educating students on environmental issues, fostering wellness practices and creating healthy learning environments.
