'Beat her up:' video captures brawl at Fulton Co. school

ATLANTA -- Posting fight videos online isn’t a new thing, but three videos posted just days apart showed a brawl between students at Fulton County’s North Springs Charter High.

In a YouTube Video posted Oct. 21, female students attack each other. They punched one another in the face, while being encouraged by fellow students whose phones were out and set on record as they captured everything.

“Beat her up,” you can hear one student yelling.

Three days later, in a second YouTube video, a female student is dragged by her hair after being punched in the face, then pounced on.

You can hear her screaming in pain.

In the third and final video, the girl from the previous video is attacked again and seemingly on the same day. This time, however, it’s by a different student who punches her in the face at least 17 times. The aggressor in that video is pulled off by several people.

We spoke to Fulton County School officials who said the violent quarrels started as disagreements on social media, but it’s not a trend at the school.

11Alive's Deborah Tuff did a bit of digging and found during North Springs High 2014-2015 school year, there were 35 fights and 15 battery cases.

While the number of fights dropped to 24 during the 2015-2016 school year, the cases of battery increased by one to 16. This was according to statistics provided by the Georgia Department of Education.

The school said the students involved in the brawls are facing appropriate disciplinary action but because of federal laws, officials didn't disclose what those disciplinary actions are.
