Class Act Nomination

Who Can Nominate?
A teacher can be nominated by anyone willing to describe how the teacher unlocks students' minds, advances their knowledge or makes a difference in their lives.

Who Can Be Nominated?
Active, full-time educators teaching from Pre-K to 12th grade are eligible. They must teach in schools in public or private schools within the following counties: Barrow, Bartow, Carroll, Clayton, Clarke, Cherokee, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Floyd, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Madison, Newton, Oconee, Paulding, Rockdale, Spalding, Troup and Walton Counties.

Teams of not more than five teachers who work together to teach the same group of students may be nominated as a single entity.

Step 1
Please review the following qualities of an elite teacher. These are just some, not all, of the qualities an elite teacher might exhibit:

  • Knowledge of subject s/he teaches.
  • Love of teaching.
  • Empathy.
  • Ability to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Persistence in giving personal best.
  • Strong contributor to school and/or community (through volunteerism, school clubs, etc.)

Qualifications:

Using the above qualifications as a guideline, please type a couple of paragraphs expressing why you think this teacher should be named an 11Alive "Class Act". Please include your personal experience with the teacher. Also, it is important to include the details of one specific example in which the teacher displayed some action that really inspired you and others. We are looking for insight into what sets this teacher apart from other exceptional teachers.
