Suspects still on the loose after shooting

ATLANTA - More security is on hand at Mays High School after a student was shot in the leg Friday evening.

The 17-year-old girl was shot while in the parking lot of the school after returning from a homecoming game at the Georgia Dome.

According to the Atlanta Public School Police Department, "a car entered the parking lot and shots were fired," just before midnight. Only one student was shot who was then transported to Grady hospital in stable condition for treatment.

Because of the shooting, APS has extra security on campus, "out of an abundance of caution."

The gunman is still on run and police are calling the shooting an apparent drive-by. Police are looking for a a dark blue or black Chevy SUV or Nissan Pathfinder that had four suspects inside.

Shortly after the shooting, someone called 911 to report that the car used in the shooting was spotted near the area of Grady Hospital, but when police got there they didn't find the vehicle or four suspects inside.
