ATLANTA -- While reporting on breaking news about a shooting near the campus of Georgia State University, an 11Alive crew discovered a possible piece of evidence.
Reporter Jennifer Bellamy and Photojournalist Jojo Johnson found a gun on the ground. It was discovered after a car left its parking spot.
They were reporting on a quadruple shooting that happened late Wednesday night at J.R. Crickets on Poplar and Forsyth Streets when they made the discovery.
The gun has a red substance that appears to be blood on the handle and around the trigger of the gun.
Crime scene technicians removed two guns from the scene initially.
11Alive is holing the powerful accountable and will ask the Atlanta Police Department how this happened.
About 30 minutes after our crew found the gun, Atlanta Police officers arrived on the scene.
After a news truck from another station moved, two additional shell casings were found on the ground.
