CHAMBLEE, GA. - Two people were arrested on Friday and a third suspect is still at large in an attempted armed robbery at the Chamblee Sam's Club on Clairmont Road.
Police said a man was putting some items into his car when he was approached by two suspects. One suspect drew a handgun, pointed it at the man and demanded his car keys. After the victim surrendered his keys, one of the suspects tried to force him into his own car.
At that moment the victim tried to grab the suspect's handgun, and a struggle ensued. The weapon discharged at least once, causing both offenders to flee on foot toward the store's rear loading dock.
Chamblee and Brookhaven police, along with a K-9 unit, established a perimeter around the area. A store surveillance video captured the incident.
A Chamblee police officer patrolling through a local apartment complex found both suspects sitting on a stairway near a parking garage. Both were taken into custody without incident.
One of the suspects, Arsalan Khan, had a gunshot wound to his hand from his own gun discharging during the struggle. He was taken to Grady Hospital for treatment, then DeKalb County Jail.
The second suspect, Patrick Geggenheimer, still had a gun in his possession and was arrested.
Police are looking for a third suspect who was seen on video driving a vehicle that dropped off the two suspects.
