Bobbi Kristina family on pulling life support: 'We wouldn't do that'

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- In an exclusive interview, Jerod Brown, Bobbi Kristina's cousin, told 11Alive's Valerie Hoff Nick Gordon has not been allowed to visit her at Emory Hospital.

"At the moment, he's not," he said. "I'm in contact with Nick. To be honest with you, Nick is feeling very emotional right now behind all of this. He's pretty torn about about what's going on."

There's been a strained relationship between Gordon and Brown's family in the past. In 2014, her aunt, Marion Houston, sought a restraining order and accused Gordon of stalking her and sending her threatening text messages.

Jerod Brown said he's been acting as a go-between: "We sit down and talk about things he wants my family to know and what we would love for Krissy to know, and that is that he loves her and is just waiting for her to wake up."

Bobbi Kristina (called 'Krissy' by some family members) has been in a coma since she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell home.

When asked if there are plans to take her off of life support, Jerod disputes tabloid reports: "We wouldn't do that to Krissy. I wouldn't want someone to do that to me if I was in that situation." He confirmed she is still on a ventilator, but plans are being made to take her off the ventilator.

"The act of being well again would be a miracle," Jerod said. He asked that people continue to pray that happens. "Right now, we have the chance to save Bobbi Kristina and the best way we can save her right now if through prayer."

The family spent the anniversary of Whitney Houston's death by Bobbi Kristina's side. "We all deal with it in our own way," Jerod said. "Auntie Whitney is greatly missed. She would want the Houstons and the Browns to be family to support each other through this, to support Krissy. Not to make it an even more negative situation."

When asked if the situation had broken down into two fighting sides, Jerod said no. "Everybody is doing their jobs, being there at Krissy's side and that's all that matters."

A statement was released Thursday evening by attorneys Randy Kessler and Joe Habachy on behalf of their client, Nick Gordon:

In response to reports that Nick Gordon is taking legal action, he would like it to be clear, he is not. Mr. Gordon's only concern is the recovery of Bobbi Kristina. He remains in constant prayer for his companion and he hopes to be reunited with her soon. Despite the incredible public interest, we ask and hope that this request can be resolved privately by Mr. Gordon and the family.

Bobby Brown's attorney, Christopher Brown, issued a statement on Friday regarding Jerod Brown's recent interviews. The statement read, in part:

Jerod Brown aka Jerod Carter aka YF Kennedy, continues to makes statements and appear on television, however, he has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family. He must be disregarded. Please do not attend any "meet and greet" organized by Jerod Brown as he is unable to provide access to Bobbi Kristina or information on her condition. This is a criminal investigation and we do not need this side show.

The statement also quoted Bobby Brown saying, "We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supports Bobbi Kristina and God is hearing our prayers."
