ATLANTA – Commuters who work in Atlanta Industrial Park finally have a smooth ride after spending months waiting for the city to complete a repaving project.
The streets through the industrial park were milled last November to prepare for a fresh coat of asphalt. The city's Department of Public Works says icy winter weather delayed the repaving.
The project went unfinished for four months. Potholes appeared on the stripped down roadway. Commuters complained of flying gravel and damaged tires.
Frustrated commuters contacted 11Alive's Commuter Dude hoping to jump start the project. City crews responded and patched the worst of the potholes.
Now, the park has been repaved, and employees who work in the industrial park are celebrating.
