Company recalls sweets over small plastic parts

A popular snack food company has announced a voluntary recall of one of its products due to the possibility of small plastic parts.

Bimbo Bakeries reports that it is recalling the following: 

Entenmann's Little Bites Fudge Brownies 5-packs with a Best By date of Oct. 8, 2016

Chocolate Chip Muffins 5-packs and 10-packs with a Best By date of Oct. 8, 2016

Variety 20 pack - Fudge Brownies, Chocolate Chip Muffins and Blueberry Muffins with a Best By date of Sept. 24, 2016.

The product was distributed to retail stores across the country in the last two weeks. Only the Fudge Brownies 5 packs and the Variety Packs are listed as having been sold in Georgia.

The Food and Drug Administration reports that the company announced the recall after receiving consumer reports of plastic in their product. So far one injury has been reported.

All recalled products are being removed from store shelves and the company said that no other products were affected.

FDA officials reported that consumers who have purchased a recalled product should dispose of it or they can return the product to its place of purchase for a full refund.
