Dawson County coach killed in Ga. 400 crash

Jed Lacey was killed in a car crash Saturday morning.

DAWSONVILLE, GA. - A Dawson County school teacher was killed Saturday morning in a four-vehicle crash in Forsyth County.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, 58-year-old Gerard "Jed" Lacey was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram when the Dodge Ram struck the left rear side of a 1987 Kenworth dump truck. The Dodge Ram's began to spin sideways and was struck by a 2007 Mack dump truck. A 2017 Subaru Outback was struck by a rear tire of that dump struck. The Subaru then struck the 1987 dump truck. 

Lacey was pronounced dead at the scene. Two juveniles in his truck were taken to an area hospital. One has been released, while the other remained hospitalized as of Monday.

The Dawson County School System confirmed the death of Jed Lacey on a Facebook post.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
