Public financing of new stadiums protested

ATLANTA – A group of protesters gathered outside of the Georgia State Capitol on Monday to oppose public financing for the new Falcons and Braves stadiums.

The protestors said they are upset over the lack of input that taxpayers had with the final decisions for the stadiums.

Members of the local NAACP and the Atlanta Tea Party said the issues and the process surrounding the public funding of both stadiums transcends political ideology.

Organizers are calling on the Supreme Court to rule on a hearing. They are also challenging the bond validations.

The protest also included members of Citizens for Governmental Transparency from Cobb County and activists from Vine City.
