Driver killed in car fire following tractor-trailer accident

Driver killed in fatal fire

One person is dead following an accident involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. 

The incident took place on on I-75 northbound in Henry County just after 4:23 Thursday morning. The accident was a result of traffic build up from another wreck involving a tractor-trailer. 

The tractor-trailer involved in the fatal wreck was stopped at the Hampton / Locust Grove Exit, 212 mile marker, with its hazard flashers on.

The driver of a black Chevy Malibu, registered out of Monroe County, was unaware of the stopped traffic and rear-ended the tractor trailer.

The collision resulted in a fire, killing the driver. The identity of the fatality is not being released due to positive identification and notification of next of kin.
