EAST POINT, Ga. -- A man suspected in a series of sexual assaults in East Point now faces a numerous new charges.
Terry Young is being held in the Fulton County jail facing more than two dozen charges.
The 20-year-old was taken into custody less than a mile from the townhomes where the three women were attacked.
Police said they found Young hiding behind a water heater. They took out several bags of evidence, including a gun and a clip filled with bullets.
Detectives say they have physical evidence connecting Young to the robbery and sexual assault of a woman earlier this month as well as the kidnapping, robbery, and rape of two women last week.
Antria White said she believes Young walked into her family's kitchen Sept. 4 with a gun.
"She just panicked and he said, 'Sorry, wrong house," because he could hear all the commotion of the kids and then my daughter jumps up," White said.
The next day, police said Young returned to the same townhome complex. He's accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and robbing a woman in that case.
Four days later, police say Young targeted two more women a few doors down, kidnapping, robbing and raping them.
It turns out police knew his name and had his driver's license photo two months earlier. There were several active warrants for him.
East Point police say that while working at a Waffle House on July 9, Young stole more than $600 out of the cash register and took off. On July 30, workers at a BP gas station in Midtown say they were training Young for work when he stole cash and cigarettes and disappeared.
