Security increased after woman raped repeatedly

Police are trying to identify two suspects accused of an unspeakable crime.

EAST POINT, Ga -- Police are trying to identify two suspects accused of an unspeakable crime. They forced their way into a 19-year old woman's home and repeatedly raped her for nearly an hour, according to police.

The woman was able to give a detailed description to police, down to what one of the suspects breath smelled like. A GBI forensic artist met with the woman and the two sketches she drew are what police are pinning their hopes on.

East Point Police Lt. Cliff Chandler said the woman was cooking dinner in her Garden Court apartment Sunday evening when something she was cooking started smoking. "So she opened the patio door to air it and once the patio door was open these two individuals entered through that open patio door," he said.

Once inside the suspects pulled out a gun and took turns raping the woman over the next half hour to hour, Lt. Chandler said. Before leaving they ransacked the apartment and took the woman's cell phone and about $900.

Three days after the attack, many residents of the Garden Court apartments didn't even know about the rape. "I had no knowledge," one woman said. "The apartment complex didn't tell us."

One suspect is described as 20 years old, about 5' 6" tall and skinny. The woman said he had a muscular build and a rotted front tooth that has turned "black". He had dreadlocks and some of them had shells connected to them. She also described a very strong "smoke" smell.

She said the second suspect was 19-20 years old, skinny, about 5" 3" tall. He had short twisted hair with the sides of the hair shaven. He also had a gold stud earring in his left ear.

Residents of the apartment complex said they didn't think the suspects lived there. "Right now we're thinking that this is a random act," Lt. Chandler said. "We don't have any information that leads us to believe that this victim knew these two perpetrators."

East Point Police are asking anyone who might recognize the suspects to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).

Police have increased security in the area.
